Maison Martin Margiela, often referred to as Maison Margiela, was founded in 1988 and is known for its avant-garde and deconstructivist approach to fashion. The house quickly gained recognition for its unconventional designs, challenging traditional notions of clothing construction and aesthetics. Margiela himself left the brand in 2009. Margiela’s atelier team collectively designed every collection from the time of Margiela’s departure to John Galliano’s appointment in 2014. Since then, Galliano has brought his unique vision and theatricality to the Maison Margiela label. Despite Margiela's departure, his legacy continues to inspire the brand's ethos of pushing boundaries and questioning the norms of fashion.
