An incredible piece of Margiela history! This top is from Martin Margiela’s 1998 S/S “Flats” Collection that reimagined three dimensional garments as two dimensional objects that could lay completely flat but still be worn and take three dimensional form. This idea came from the fashion/garment flats designers use to cut fabric for garments. The fashion student in me swoons over this collection. Truly a special piece from when Margiela was still designing for the label.
